September News for Music Creators
SACEM Hangout: A New Gathering for the Community
Mark your calendars for September 25th at Café ‘Beim Renert’ from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Take advantage of this relaxed and friendly moment to connect, discuss, and maybe even create new projects together. The benefits of Luxembourg, especially its proximity and easy connections, could make this new SACEM gathering a constructive, creative, and motivating moment to advance together in our various projects, with music creation as the common denominator.
Finger food and drinks will be provided. We look forward to seeing you!
Cultural Action: New Auto-Production Support Scale
Many of you regularly benefit from SACEM Luxembourg's auto-production support. We would like to inform you that during its meeting on September 12th, the advisory committee for rights holders decided to extend the budgets dedicated to repertoire creation. In return, the "studio" contribution within the support scale will be removed.
This specific support was introduced during the health crisis a few years ago and has helped to revitalize and professionalize the sector. However, SACEM Luxembourg has decided to refocus its support on its main mission: the creation of works. As such, we will exclusively concentrate on support dedicated to the creation of works, regardless of the production location.
Training: Awareness and Education
The world of copyright is sometimes seen as a great mystery. That's why we are committed to raising awareness and educating about this area, which we manage in terms of collection.
This season, we are offering two training sessions:
- Workshop: The Basics of Copyright
In collaboration with Sonotron, you can attend a workshop on Saturday, September 21st, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Sonotron in Differdange.
- Advanced Workshop: Creative Control
In collaboration with Rocklab and IPIL, we are organizing a more advanced workshop on November 16th at Rocklab.
FLAC 10th Anniversary
The Luxembourg Federation of Authors and Composers (FLAC) will celebrate its 10th anniversary on Thursday, September 19th. Created by SACEM Luxembourg's advisory committee for rights holders, FLAC works more for local causes, where SACEM Luxembourg's actions are more limited.
Hand in hand, we support the development of the Luxembourgish music scene, promoting the work of creators and fighting for fair remuneration for authors, composers, and music publishers.
Come celebrate this moment with us!
Feel free to reach out with any questions or for more information. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events and workshops!
