What is the SACD?
The SACD (Société des Auteurs et Compositeurs Dramatiques) is the society of authors of live performance, television fiction, cinema, animation, digital creation, radio, podcasts and written works (Being an Author, the Professions | SACD).
Founded in 1777 by Beaumarchais, it is owned by the authors who are its members and is today the world’s leading society for the management of audiovisual and live performance rights. It represents over 60,000 authors.
It collectively manages and defends their rights, provides them with numerous services, offers workspaces, advises them on access to social rights or questions related to their status as authors. It also supports contemporary creation, arts education and the dissemination of works through the private copying levy.
Since 1 July 2013, the SACD has been represented in Luxembourg by Sacem Luxembourg. In this capacity, it manages the collection of rights for live performance events in the country.
The SACD is represented on the Luxembourgish territory by the SACEM Luxembourg.
