How to submit a work to Sacem?
As of March 1, 2021:
- Temporary works must be declared online in the member area.
- Unpublished works must also be declared online in the member area. Declaration in paper format using form 726 (+ possible annex ) remains possible for the following genres: Film music , series , advertising , Arrangement, Adaptation, Work with author and/or composer in the public domain, Symphonic music, Musical tale, Parody, Work of more than 15 minutes. Dubbing and subtitling texts and audiovisual productions must be declared with the usual forms.
- Published works should preferably be declared online. Paper declarations using form 725 are still possible.
How to obtain declaration forms?
By downloading them from the media library .
Attention :
To be accepted by Sacem, paper declaration forms must not be crossed out or whited out. It is mandatory to indicate the duration of the work on the form.
What materials should you attach to your submission?
For a paper submission, you must attach a CD and, if applicable, the score of the work.
For online submission, you can attach an MP3 or WAV file.
Also remember to include the full lyrics and, in the case of a published work, the assignment and publishing contract.
What share should be indicated on the final deposit?
Online or in paper format, you must specify your role (author, composer, publisher, etc.) and indicate as a percentage the share of your reproduction rights only (CD exploitation, videos, etc.).
The total share of all creators and publishers of the work must be strictly equal to 100% .
Sharing public performance rights (radio, television, concerts, shows, etc.) is statutory in accordance with Article 57 of the Sacem Statutes.
Also remember to include your international number which appears on your membership card or, failing that, your Sacem account number (COAD) which appears on your distribution slips.
What is the destination of the arrangement?
The destination of the arrangement is the details of the holdings for which the arranger has carried out this work. He will only receive rights from these holdings.
If the arrangement was made for a specific record or for a series of concerts, then two repositories must be made:
- a deposit without mention of the arranger,
- a deposit with mention of the arranger and this precise destination.
It is also essential to include two media (CD, etc.): that of the original work and that of the arranged work.
If the arrangement has been made for all uses of the work and the arranger must receive royalties systematically, a single deposit with the note "Arrangement valid for all destinations" is sufficient.
Please note:
Arranged works cannot be submitted online to your member area. Please download a declaration form from the media library .
Don't forget the legal deposit of the National Audiovisual Center!
The mission of the National Audiovisual Centre is to ensure the safeguarding of the national audiovisual heritage by legal deposit of audiovisual, cinematographic, sound, etc. documents produced on national territory and made available to the public regardless of their technical process of production, publication or distribution, in accordance with the law of 25 June 2004 on the reorganization of State cultural institutes and the Grand Ducal regulation of 6 November 2009 relating to legal deposit .
you are a singer-songwriter or a conductor performing your works on tour: Don’t forget to register a "programme type" with SACEM itemizing the works you usually perform, either via your account or by filling out the form below After each live performance, you should send SACEM a notification form with your setlist.
How to register your setlist?
You are an author and/or composer and you perform your repertoire during concerts, galas, recitals
In this case, do not forget to submit your setlist via the form below or via your member space, in order to inform us of which works from your repertoire you perform and therefore to be able to receive the royalties that result from your performances subsequently.
We recommend doing this every time you (or your group) change your program during your live performances.
You have the possibility to return this document by post or by email to the address: info@sacemlux.lu or to declare your setlist online in the Member Area!
At the bottom of this page you will find all the information concerning the different funds:
